Take Me Back to Hatcher Pass!
What a beautiful place! The mountain range is breathtaking. There are wild flowers everywhere! Creeks and little lakes nestle in between the mountains. It is a mountainous paradise! Also a super fun place to hike with kids, there are many levels of climbing and hiking to choose from.
This was a special session photographing my childhood friend Beth and her darling family! It was fun exploring the great frontier together like we did as kids. Alaska has so much diversity in terrain, it’s seriously a photographers paradise! Well, for maybe two to three months of the year…Winter up there is not my cup of tea.
Unlike my experience shooting in the interior of Alaska, where you have to wait till nearly midnight during the summer months, being south and in the mountains we were able to start much earlier. The other noticeable attribute I noticed was the lack of obnoxious bugs. In the Fairbanks area the mosquitos are horrible! I’m telling you, this was the perfect place for a family session!
I can’t wait to get back this summer and hopefully shoot here again!! If you are interested please get in touch, I would be a treat to plan your family’s mountain session with you!
I will be back in Alaska July of 2023 and am taking sessions here in Palmer as well as the Fairbanks and North Pole area. If you are interested in booking a family session with me please get in touch soon!
